The silent guardian of your kitchen

Every fryer, grill and pot sink sends grease toward your drains. Without an adequate interceptor — or with a saturated one — that grease congeals in your pipes, and a mid-service backup is only a matter of time.

We cover the full cycle: assessment and sizing, compliant installation, replacement, and scheduled follow-up under our maintenance contracts.

Sizing matters

Too small and it saturates in days; oversized and you’re paying for capacity and floor space you don’t need. The right size depends on your fixtures (sinks, dishwashers, kettles), service volume and cuisine type.

Try our French-language grease trap calculator for a first estimate — then validate with our team before you buy.

Compliant installation and replacement

Location and trap type selection, code-compliant connection, coordination with your municipality when required — all executed by an RBQ-licensed contractor, CMMTQ member.

Maintained traps, prevented problems

Under a maintenance contract, your trap is inspected and documented at every visit. Combined with preventive drain cleaning, that’s the end of repeat backups in most kitchens we service.

Frequently asked questions

How often should a grease trap be pumped out?

The industry rule of thumb: pump out when grease and solids reach about 25% of the trap's liquid capacity — for many kitchens that means every 4 to 12 weeks depending on frying and cooking volume. Our online calculator gives you a personalized estimate; your municipality may impose a minimum frequency.

How do I know my grease trap is undersized?

Telltale signs: drains that slow or back up regularly, persistent odours, a trap that saturates well before its scheduled pump-out. An undersized trap lets grease through to your pipes — the problem moves, it doesn't disappear.

Can I install a grease trap myself?

Installation ties into the building's drainage plumbing and must meet the applicable plumbing code; in Quebec this work must be done by a licensed contractor. A non-compliant install risks failed inspections, insurance issues and recurring blockages.
